Our commitment to child and young person safety:

About U Services has zero tolerance of harm or risk of harm to a child or young person. All allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently in the best interest of children.

We support and respect all children, young people, and their families, as well as our staff and volunteers. About U Services is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children and young people and acknowledges that the safety of children and young people is a whole of organisational responsibility.

About U Services understands that children and young people with a disability experience an increased risk of harm and we are committed to our staff being trained to know how to keep them safe and protected from any harm.

We are committed to ensuring our organisation understands the rights of children and young people and will support this by developing and reviewing prevention strategies, policies and procedures that support safety and wellbeing.

We are committed to our staff understanding their legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when they have suspicions based on responsible grounds that a child or young person’s is at risk of being harmed or there are safety concerns.

We are committed to cultural safety of children and young people and to providing a safe environment for children and young people with a disability.

We have specific policies and procedures in place that support us to achieve these commitments.
